LEO G. (LEE) PARISH Obituary
Age 88, of South Park, formerly of Dormont, died peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2014. Beloved husband of 60 years to Janet (Cready) Parish; loving father of Mary Parish (Chuck Slayton) and Donna Neiport (Michael); adoring pap to Nick and Jake Neiport; son of the late Leo and Mary (Hahner) Panick; brother of Mary Grace (late Jim) McMarlin, Donald Parish, and Barbara Panick; and several nieces and nephews; including Gwyn Cready who, with her husband, Lester Pyle, brightened many a day. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an active supporter of the community in Dormont, serving on the Civil Service Commission, the Dormont Day Committee, and in the Dormont Boosters for many years. His deep devotion to his family, his wonderful sense of humor, his kindness, and his love of learning, are a legacy that lives on in the lives of those who knew and loved him. The family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Family Hospice & Palliative Care for their gentle care, support, and compassion. The family also extends its thanks to the many neighbors and friends in Dormont who went above and beyond, and to the caregivers and staff at Comfort Keepers. Friends are invited to visit with the family at a gathering in Lee's memory on Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Michael Neiport, 3576 Falmouth Drive, South Park, PA. Interment is private. Those who wish to remember Lee may make donations to Family Hospice, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243. Arrangements by BALL FUNERAL CHAPEL, INC.
