MICHAEL
Age 87, of Canonsburg, PA, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2014. Michael was born in Symi (Simi), Greece, and immigrated to America at the age of 7. He graduated from Canonsburg High School and served in the U.S. Navy with an honorable discharge. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as the Post Master of Monroeville. After retirement, he owned a flower shop and then a delicatessen. Michael was an active member of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church of Mt. Lebanon and the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery in Saxonburg, PA. He is the beloved husband of the late Dorothea (Orfanopoulos); beloved brother of the late Deanne Drandakis; loving father of Dr. Maria (Michael) Sakellarides of Springfield, VA, Dr. Alexis Megaludis-Politis (Manuel) of Peters Township, PA, Michael N. (Yvonne) Megaludis of Clinton, PA, Daniel (Linda) Megaludis of Murrysville, PA, and Dr. Christina (Marshall) Tsakiris of Kingsville, MD; beloved grandfather of Dr. Gabrielle, Haris (Shanna), and Dimitri Sakellarides, Alex Granger, Nico, Alexa, Luke, and Elena Megaludis, Constantine and Kassianna Politis, George and Michael Tsakiris; and beloved great-grandfather of Michael "Micah" Sakellarides. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014, at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Mt. Lebanon. Additional visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, followed by the Funeral Service at Holy Cross. Interment will be held in the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery Cemetery in Saxonburg, PA. Michael was an avid golfer who loved baseball and wrestling. He attended church and bible study regularly. He served the poor at Washington City Mission and Focus. Those that knew him called him "Papou Mike." He loved and cherished both family and friends, but his first love was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Papou Mike was always heard saying, "God is Love and Love is God. If you don't have God you have nothing!" In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to The Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Monastery, P.O. Box 536, 121 Elias Lane, Saxonburg, PA 16056, or Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Agape Fund, 123 Gilkeson Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228. Arrangements have been entrusted to CREMATION AND FUNERAL CARE BY DANIELLE ANDY BELUSKO, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260 5546.
