SUZANNE (SKINNER) WISNIEWSKI Obituary
WISNIEWSKI
SUZANNE (SKINNER)
Passed away at her home in Shaler on June 16, 2014, at the age of 71. Suzanne was born to Jack and Mary Skinner (Callahan) in Pittsburgh in 1942. She graduated from Shaler High School in 1960 and continued her education at Carnegie Mellon University (known as Carnegie Tech at the time). She studied fine art with an emphasis in painting and design. Suzanne moved briefly to Galveston, Texas in 1962. Upon her return to Pittsburgh in 1964, she worked as a reservationist for Trans World Airlines for several years. She lived her life unrestrained by rules. Friends and family will remember her as a generous and fiercely independent woman who defied expectations. Suzanne is survived by her only child, Heather McCreery; son-in-law, Raymond Zurcher, both of San Antonio, Texas; and four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Mercedes Bazzone of Tokyo, Japan, Stephen Bazzone, Grant Zurcher, and Austin Zurcher, all of San Antonio, Texas; she is also survived by her two brothers, Dick Holzer and John Holzer and his wife, Beverly; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Thomas King McCreery, Jr. and Dave Wisniewski. Suzanne was a pragmatic individual and her remains were cremated by THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, LTD., Blawnox, per her request. No immediate visitation or funeral services are planned. However, a remembrance event will be held at the Shalercrest Housing Association community building at 272 Mt. Vernon Dr., Pittsburgh, 15223 at 6:00 p.m. on July 26, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Rocky Mountain MS Center. Suzanne was keenly interested in multiple sclerosis and donated her brain tissue to further research efforts. Donations are extremely appreciated and may be made online at https://app.etapestry.com/hosted/RockyMountainMSCenter/OnlineDonation.html or by mail: Rocky Mountain MS, 8845 Wagner Street, Westminster, CO 80031, attn: Chris Ruggeri. The family of Suzanne wishes to thank the helpful staff of Celtic Hospice, Dr. Ted Schaffer, and friend, Carol Purcell for their time, energy and invaluable assistance.
