Obituary Condolences

Of Penn Township, PA, died suddenly at home on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Wilma (Targos) Kashawlic. Surviving are her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, Richard W. Fries; loving children, Jamie L. and Matthew R. Fries; sisters, Janet (Chris) Angelopoulos, Linda (Ken) Mroz, and Barbara (Alan) Thompson; her mother-in-law, Helen (late William) Fries; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Joanne was a joy to be around and filled everyone's life with love and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all, and her family and friends will feel her love and hear her voice forever. Joanne was employed by Center for Fertility and Gynecology in Wexford, was a member of Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, was former manager and chief ultrasound tech at Magee Women's Hospital and was educator of ultrasound at Boyce Campus. Friends will be received Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, July 11, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Harrison City, with Father Matthew Morelli officiating. Contributions may be made to Allegheny General Hospital, c/o Department of Fund Development, 320 East North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, in memory of Joanne Fries and will be designated to support women's cardiovascular services.
