Obituary Condolences

Passed away on July 9, 2014, at the age of 82. She was loved by many as a spouse, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Mary was born in Flatbush, New York, to Mathilda and Henry Schreiner, who preceded her. She is survived by her loving husband, Howard Finley of 60 years; her two sisters, Theresa Albert and Mathilda McKinley; and two children, Howard Finley and Anne Marie Donahue; and five grandchildren. Mary enjoyed spending her time gardening and will be missed by many. Mary was a graduate of Seton Hill College and a National Merit Scholar and graduate student at University of North Carolina, majoring in microbiology, where she met her future husband. She also earned her Master's Degree from Duquesne University. She spent many years as a high school biology teacher at Carrick High School and then as a science supervisor for the Pittsburgh Board of Education. She was an active member of St. Thomas A'Becket Roman Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12 p.m. at St. Thomas A'Becket Church. In memory of Mary, a donation may be made in her name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Church Street Station, Box 780, New York, New York 10008. Condolences may be left at:
