1925 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Age 89, a longtime resident of Coraopolis, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Ames Family Hospice. She was born in Masontown, WV on April 6, 1925, to the late Croce and Lasca (Tate) Martinelli. On September 23, 1985, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. McAlister and on January 2, 2011, her daughter, Sheryl Frances McAlister. Beloved mother of Colleen McAlister Steffas (Steven) of Independence, OH; cherished grandmother of Sean A. McAlister (Amy) of W. Virginia, and Brienne Gamelier and Zachary Steffas, both of Ohio; proud great-grandmother of Myah and Ethan McAlister; sister of Martha Steele of Chicago, IL, Irene Gaskins of Robinson Twp., and the late Mary Burbridge (survived by husband Charles of W. Virginia), Lucy Tarantini and Viola Denton. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church, Christian Mother and ISDA. Harriet was a tower of strength and support, especially to her children and grandchildren, independent, selfless, loving and compassionate. She impacted so many on this earth. "You were greatly loved and will be greatly missed." Visitation Wednesday and Thursday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave., where Prayers will be recited on Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at St. Joseph Church. Father Richard Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery. In honor of her great grandson, Ethan, family suggests donations in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
