Obituary Condolences

Age 82, of Sewickley, and a long-time resident of Ben Avon, died peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014. She was the wife of the late James F. Ewing III; beloved mother of Eric F. Ewing, Kristin E. Bahner and the Rev. Patrick S. Ewing (Becky); sister of Mary Schopmann (Charles) and Christine Leykam; loving grandmother of David and Heather Bahner, Caitlin and Lauren Ewing, and Ashley and Andrew Ewing; also survived by two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Logan Castillo; six nieces; and eight nephews. Mrs. Ewing was a graduate of Bethel High School and Pennsylvania College for Women (Chatham University). She was a long-time realtor in the Pittsburgh area and a fashion coordinator for Gimbels Department Store. She was a Deacon and a member of the church choir at the former Woodland United Presbyterian Church. She also acted with Community Theater Players at Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon and was the President of the Flower Club. Her home in Ben Avon was the site of the movie Lorenzo's Oil. Marline was an avid bridge player. She was a current member of the Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McDONALD - LINN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 529 California Avenue, Avalon, where Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Reverend Patrick S. Ewing will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to to Ardara United Presbyterian Church, 3380 Nehrig Hill Road, Ardara, PA 15615.
