1936 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Age 77, of Zelienople, formerly of Shaler Township, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, while under the care of St. Barnabas in Gibsonia. Born October 24, 1936, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna (Summerville) Kripavicius. Helen was a graduate of Peabody High School and attended St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople. After 18 years of dedicated work, she retired from the admissions department at West Penn Hospital. In her free time, Helen loved gardening, reading, socializing with friends, and traveling, but above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, wise, fun-loving, supportive, and enthusiastic. She raised her children as a single mother with love, tenderness and devotion. She is survived by her three children, Diane (Bruce) Falzarano of Roseville, CA, Joe (Joanna) Hersick of Zelienople, and Michael (Wendy) Hersick of Aliso Viejo, CA; and her six grandchildren, Lauren and Claire Falzarano, Sam, James, Zach and Sophie Hersick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ford and Joan Spicer. Helen's family will welcome friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 324 E. Grandview Avenue, Zelienople. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 West Beaver Street, Zelienople, with Father Lawrence R. Smith, celebrant. She will be laid to rest in St. Casimir Cemetery in Pittsburgh. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Miami, FL 33134.
