Obituary Condolences

In Florida on August 2, 2014, Charles J. Myron, age 82, formerly of McCandless Twp. and Oil City. A loving father, tremendous friend and loyal companion, he will be missed by all. Born and raised in Mt. Oliver, Chuck served as a code-breaker in the Army during the Korean war after which he attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a degree in business. After moving to Oil City to continue his successful banking career, he became a vocal champion for the Oil City and Pittsburgh region and maintained a lifelong appreciation for his Western PA heritage. Chuck was a terrific sports enthusiast and supporter holding season tickets for Pitt basketball, Pitt football, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Other interests and areas of support included The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Drake Well, Pittsburgh Symphony, The History Center, Carnegie Museum, The Duquesne Incline, Phipps Conservatory, The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and Fallingwater. Chuck is survived by his gratefully devoted son, Mark; daughter- in-law, Josepha, whom he adored; two granddaughters, Alexandra and Anastasia, who he cherished; and his loving partner in life, Laurie Stewart. His legacy of love, kindness, generosity, humility and friendship will assuredly survive his physical presence. Friends received Saturday 9:30 a.m. until time of blessing service at 11 a.m. at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, at 7720 Perry Hwy., Pgh., PA 15237. Burial to follow in St. John Vianney Cemetery, 920 Brownsville Road, Pgh., PA 15210. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to either the Myron Family Scholarship Fund at The University of Pittsburgh or an Alzheimer's research foundation of your choice.
