1944 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Age 69, of Pleasant Hills, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, August 8, 2014. He was born on October 6, 1944, in Canonsburg, son of the late Amedeo and Amelia Piccioni. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Maryann (Novosel) Piccioni; loving father of Monti (Lisa), Lee, Alexandra and Anthony Piccioni; cherished grandfather of Will, Nicholas, Marina, and Dominic; brother of JoAnn Piccioni, Joseph (Danni) Piccioni, Mary Eleanor (Bruce) Broglie, Mike (Maryann) Piccioni, Lucy (Bill) Lash, Angela (Mike) Schlumpf, and Theresa (Robert) Semple; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Tony served as captain of the Cecil Twp. Volunteer Fire Company #1 in Lawrence, PA during the late 1960s. He attended Ohio State University on a full wrestling scholarship, where he was named most valuable freshman in 1964, co-captain in 1965 and 1966 and was an All-American in 1965. Tony taught industrial arts and was a middle school librarian for West Mifflin School District. He also coached high school wrestling for West Mifflin for 30 years, during which time he had numerous WPIAL and PA State place finishers. In 1991, his team was the Section 3 Champions and he was named Coach of the Year. Visitation will be held Tuesday 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. Condolences may be given at:
