RAYMOND W. LEHMAN Obituary
LEHMAN
RAYMOND W.
Formerly of Glenshaw, passed away with his wife at his side on Friday, August 8, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. He was born September 24, 1926, in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Earl and Frances Emanuel Lehman. Ray was a retired broadcaster and was defined by a golden voice, heard for 42 years on various radio stations and as narrator of films for some of America's largest corporations. A tireless advocate of classical music, he championed its cause and for three decades was the on-air voice of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He was a devoted calligraphy artist and much of his art hangs on the walls of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jane Lehman; his children, Robert (Allison) Lehman and Ruth (Barry) Van De Carr; his grandchildren, Meredith and Bess. In addition to his parents; his sister, Grace L. Doran; and his brother, Earl W. Lehman, preceded him in death. No visitation. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Elfinwild Presbyterian Church, 3200 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Elfinwild Presbyterian Church or to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Arrangements by WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall.
