JOHN M.
John M. Stefanick, age 70, of Neville Island, died peacefully, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Peggy (Richert) for nearly 45 years, and the cherished father of Colleen (Talton) and Michael. John was a loving, caring, and devoted grandfather, known to his special girls as Pap. He was a lifelong father figure and role model for his granddaughters, Desiree and Alexis Talton and Alena Ishman; and a loving brother-in-law to Linda Richert. John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and John; and a baby sister, Donna. He is survived by a sister, Maryann and husband, Robert Waldby; niece, Kristina and husband, Dale VanMegroet; and nephew, Josh, his wife, Christine, and their daughters, Mia and Emma. He is also survived by close family members, Rick, Debbie, Greg, and Ashley Richert; and many aunts and uncles; Leonard Paczan, cousin and lifetime friend, was very special in John's life and spent much time visiting him. John was a special, gentle, giving, devoted, and caring person who will be missed greatly and forever loved by his family and many friends. He enjoyed being with his family and loved fishing with his son and granddaughters. John actively participated for 17 years in the and served his country in the United States Air Force. Friends will be received at R.D. COPELAND FUNERAL HOME in Coraopolis Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with Funeral Service on Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by military honors and entombment in Resurrection Cemetery.
