Age 89, of Monroeville, died on Monday, August 25, 2014. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Agnes L. (Malinzak) Wozniak. Son of the late John and Fenia Wozniak, and was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Loving father of Charles A. (Mai) Wozniak, Mary Joan Luckock, Mark T. (Janet) Wozniak and Patricia (John) Henk; loving grandfather of Lucy Marlane McClure, Alex McClure, Jennifer Gereshenski, Jonathan (Marcie) Wozniak and Sarah (Tad) VanDeCar; loving great- grandfather of Olivia and Caitlin Wozniak and Hunter and Colton VanDeCar. Aleck attended California S.T.C. in September 1942, and enlisted in the Army Air Corps Cadet Program as a voluntary inductee in January 1944. He completed navigation training and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in August 1945 in Selman Field, LA. He was discharged from Mitchell Field, NY in February 1946. He graduated from California S.T.C. in January 1948, with majors in Industrial Arts and Mathematics. He later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in School Administration. Aleck was retired from U.S. Steel as a design engineer. Aleck was active in the Monroeville Lions Club and worked on founding the Farmers Market. He was a Monroeville Councilman for 12 years, a member of the American Legion, and a member of St. Bernadette's Building Committee. He enjoyed fly-fishing in Glacier National Park in Montana and Potter County, PA and also enjoyed gardening. He and his wife, Agnes traveled extensively with trips to the Grand Canyon, Arizona, Florida Keys, Indiana and many other states. Along with his brother, Sam, he traveled to Paris, Mt. St. Jean, near Nancy, France and Lviv, Ukraine. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at St. Bernadette Church, with interment following in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
