HELENE JOANNE
Helene J. Mega, affectionately known as "Aunt Honey" to family and friends, passed away quietly at Kane Hospital on April 13, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Helene enjoyed traveling and the arts, such as ceramics, theater, singing in her church choir. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Helene was a longtime resident of Clairton where she was a member of Clairton AARP and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her brother, Ronald (Donna) Mega; and nephews, Alex (Brenna) of Dallas, TX, Mark (Beth) of Chicago, IL, and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anne (Kapusta); and her brother, Robert. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 12-4 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your personal choice. Condolences may be left at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.

Helene was a friend and bus buddy in the days when we both worked in Pittsburgh. Sorry to hear of her passing. May God bless her always.

A friend of mine since our high school days, Helene was a kind and nurturing person who befriended many and was always there for those in need.
