TRAX ROBERT C.
Of Finleyville, age 87, died peacefully at home with family by his side on Friday, February 10, 2017. He was born on March 10, 1929, in Library, a son of the late George C. and Elizabeth Hast Trax. He was a 1947 graduate of the Snowden High School in Library. He married his wife, Doris Mae Leech, on May 12, 1950, in Peters Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee and a deacon. He spent his life farming, which was his life's passion. Bob also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and snow skiing. He served on the PA Vegetable Growers board for 18 years. In 1999 he received the Mid Atlantic Master Farmer Award. Survived by four children, Bonnie Spoto, of Colorado Springs, Judy (Dave) Ross, of Finleyville, Peggy (Wayne) Coffield of Finleyville and Robert (Patty) Trax of Finleyville; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Pust, of Granada Hills, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mae Leech, brothers, Ralph Trax, William Trax and his sister, Dorothy Bebout. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at DAVID J. HENNEY FUNERAL HOME, 6364 Library Road (Rt. 88) Library. A Memorial Service will be held at Peters Creek Baptist Church Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Peters Creek Baptist Church, 6300 Library Road, South Park, PA 15129.
