Obituary Condolences

81, of Ross Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2009, surrounded by his family, after a brave battle with leukemia. Tom was the beloved husband of Trudy for 59 years and loving father of his children, Kathy McKenna (Mickey), Thomas III (Kathy Jean), Kevin, Teresa Heusey (Gary) and Michael (Charlene); also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson; brother of the late William Flaherty. Tom was a WWII Navy Veteran, a 1951 graduate of Duquesne Univ. and had a long successful career in advertising. He, and his wife Trudy, were active North Hills realtors. Tom was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Church. He was one of the first Eucharistic Ministers in the Pittsburgh Diocese. He enjoyed teaching High School CCD and was also active as a promoter for St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center, serving as President of the Retreat League Board of Directors. Friends received Sunday, 7-9pm and Monday, 2-4 and 7-9pm at the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Avila Church, Tuesday, 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Society.
