Obituary Condolences

CINDRICH STELLA D.
Stella D. Cindrich, 90, of Avella, died peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2010 in her home surrounded by family. She was born on October 4, 1920, in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Rocco and Christina Agastino Sfara. Mrs. Cindrich had lived in Avella for the past 80 years and was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. Stella was an exceptional student and was a 1937 graduate of Avella High School, at the age of 16, after having been accelerated one grade. On June 25, 1939, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Avella, she married Anthony J. Cindrich, who died on April 15, 2001. She co-founded with her husband Tony the utility contracting firm of AJ Cindrich, Inc., when he returned home from WWII. She served as secretary and treasurer for the family business while working full-time and raising five children, still finding time to attend all the social and sporting events of her children through high school and college. The business prospered with her involvement and she was the fact finder and primary decision maker in buying real estate, coal, and oil and gas. Mrs. Cindrich was active in the community as secretary of Council and Finance of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, and Vice President of the American Legion. She was the owner and president of a development company, and a dry cleaning business. She also served as president of the Cedar Grove Water Association, vice president of the American Legion Post #643 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Board of Directors of the A.D. White Historical Society. She was the matriarch of a successful extended family that met on Sundays and holidays to spend time with her, and to enjoy her delicious pasta dinners. She was loved and will be missed by all of her family. Mrs. Cindrich is survived by three sons, Ronald A. (Darlene) Cindrich of Thornburg, Robert J. (Bonnie) Cindrich of Zelienople, Ralph E. (Mary Rose) Cindrich of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Rita Cindrich Botula and her husband Jon of Presto and Rebecca Cindrich of Robinson Township; ten grandchildren, Ronald A. (Ryann) Cindrich, Jr., Debra (Edward) Thomas, Cheryl Cindrich Postufka and her husband Timothy, Stephen (Traci) Cindrich, Scott (Jessica) Cindrich, Amanda, Michael and Christina Cindrich, Susan and Lauren Ciccone; two step-grandchildren, Amy and Maryll Botula; nine great-grandchildren, Brianne and Joshua Thomas, Marlo, Luke and Paige Postufka, Jack and Elena Cindrich, and Jake and Samantha Rechter.
