I tried my first jury trial in front of Judge Scalera when I was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Pittsburgh and I will never forget the kindness and courtesy he extended to me nor the friendship he later extended to me when our paths would cross during my career. He will be missed.

Very sorry to read of Ralph passing away. My sympathy is extended to you all. When we lived in Midland I considered Ralp as one of my friends.

To Mrs. Scalera and family,
I am sorry to hear of the Judges death. I had limited contact with him but on those occassions that I did he was a true gentleman. He left a lasting impression, a favorite of mine. I would engage him at my fathers office and he was always very kind.
