Obituary Condolences

John N. Datesh, of Jupiter, FL, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away on March 10, 2011, at age 89. Born in Canton, OH, John was the youngest son of Nicholas John Datesh and Anna (Haller) Datesh. He was the loving and devoted husband of Frances Honey McBride Datesh. A Carnegie Mellon University graduate in chemical engineering, John earned a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate of Science. John served on a special team of scientists during World World II developing strategic materials for the Manhattan Project. Later he began his career as executive and chief scientist of Dacar Chemical Company of Pittsburgh, PA, comprising 40 years of product invention and corporate management. Through his entrepreneurial efforts, Dacar expanded its industrial and consumer product lines into foreign markets. He was cherished by his children, JoAnn (Robert) Kiburz, Janet Nave, John Datesh, Jr., James (LuAnn) Datesh, and by his stepchildren Denise (William) Dougherty, James (Ginger) Gleason, and Chris (Kelly) Gleason; grandfather of Jonathan Kiburz, Brendan Kiburz, Jay Datesh, Anne Datesh, Daniel Brickley, Rio Brickley, Alexandra Dougherty, Calvin Gleason, Dixon Gleason, Liam Gleason, and Tatum Gleason, and great-grandfather of Jack Fisher.
