My freshman year at W&J, Herb asked me to take him to my high school in Butler to a football game. There was a player from his home town on the apposing team that he wanted to see. That player turned out to be Willie Jo Nameth. I have very fond memories of of our times together.

Herb was one of the brightest minds I came across in my real estate career, and not just because he gave me my start! Not only did he teach me how to analyze a deal or sell it to a loan committee, he taught me how to enjoy a martini and keep it all in perspective.

Marty,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on Herb's passing. I cannot begin to tell you how often I think of you both and was always pestering Tom Henry to see if he had heard form Herb. I can honestly say that Herb was an unforgettable guy who made me laugh so hard I would cry. I will always remember all of the Carlisle and Bowling Green car shows fondly. Many Blessings!

Marty,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Herb was such an important person to me and many people in Real Estate and Banking. He was a great mentor and leader for me and plenty of others he worked with. He is someone I am very grateful to have known and spent time with, and he is certainly someone I will never forget. His intellect, sense of humor and integrity were things that made him a unique and very memorable person.

Marty,
I just learned of Herb's death from Tom McCandless. It came as a great shock and I wish to pass along my deepest condolences to you and your family. You and Herb and Tom and Paula were the only Phi Delta Theta couples to ever visit me here in Indonesia. Something I'll always remember.

Marty,
Paula and I were very sad to hear of Herbs passing. Herb and I met as freshmen at W&J. We were fraternity brothers, lived in the same house, and had many classes together. We always enjoyed being with the two of you. He will always be in my thoughts.

Marty,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I have missed Herb since he left PNC and I moved to Kansas City.
Over the years, I have been blessed by many people, including Herb. He was a mentor to me and changed my life for the better.
I remarried six years ago, left PNC shortly therafter, obtained a new master's degree and started a new venture.
If there is anything I can do for you, please email me at [email protected].
