I was very fortunate to have been taught by the Sisters at Ascension Grade School in Northwoods, Missouri. Sister Mary Donald was my 8th grade teacher, and she, along with Sister Mary Joseph, helped instill and nurture in me many values that have helped me so much in my life. I am especially grateful to Sister Mary Donald for convincing me to stay in the school band when I was on the verge of quitting, as music quickly became and remains a lifelong passion for me. I last saw Sr. Mary Donald in 1970 while visiting former grade school friends in Northwoods. I remember that I almost decided against dropping in to see her. Especially now, I am so glad that I did stop and visit with both her and Sister Mary Joseph. Ironically, I was talking with my wife about Sister Mary Donald on Christmas eve, the very day she died, as I recalled for Jean the Christmas eve midnight masses and the role Sister Mary Donald and the other Sisters played in facilitating those and so many other parish activities. She was a wonderful person as were all of the Sisters at Ascension Grade School. I owe each of them so much more than words can express. Rest in peace, Sister.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Sr. Joan. She taught at St.Mary's-St. Mark's while I was in school....I remember the rehearsals for the Bicentennial program. I came to see her talent and sense of humor more as a CDP Associate. Rest in peace Sister

I, too, was a student of Sr. Mary Donald. She was my inspiration for becoming a teacher. If God needs someone to keep folks in line up there, he's now got the right gal for the job. Eternal rest grant unto her, oh Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her.

Dear Sisters,
You are in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve the loss of Sister Joan Albaugh, truly a valuable member and fine person. May she enjoy eternal joy and peace and help us to reach our heavenly home also.

I was a student of hers at Ascension of our Lord Grade School in St. Louis, Missouri. Although she was strict and often frightened her students with her stern manner, she was my favorite nun and I learned countless academic and life lessons from her. As an adult I learned that she was going to attend the same school of nursing that I had attended. It was a no-nonsense nursing school. I remember calling her before she started the program to wish her well, but to also advise her that she would now get a good taste of the medicine she had doled out to her students. She verified this fact after she graduated. God's blessings to Sr. Mary Donald.

Condolences to the Sisters of Divine Providence. I vividly remember one icy night a few years ago when she offered me welcomed hospitality at the Provincial House. May she rest in peace and be rewarded for her many years of service.
