Age 94, of West Mifflin, died peacefully on Friday, September 21, after a long and happy life. Born on August 8, 1918 in Dravosburg, he was the son of the late Steve and Mary Momich. He was married for 60 years to his partner in life, the late Velma Momich, and is survived by eight children, Stephen P. (Patti) Momich of Eliz. Twp., Mary Ann (Rick) Tatarzyn of Eliz Twp., Theresa (Rick) Bauer of McKeesport, Charlotte Momich of Bridgeville, Matthew (Linda) Momich of Irwin, Christine (the late Gary) Karbowski of FL, Betsy Momich of Pgh., and Maura (Marlin) South of N. Huntingdon; twelve grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by four siblings, Ruby Denzler, Anna Marinkovich, Adam, and Pete. He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and Douglas Business School, and a retiree of Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Duquesne. He was a passionate gardener and avid golfer, skills he patiently passed on and shared with many of his children and grandchildren. A handyman extraordinaire, he built the cherished family home where he lived, happily, until the year of his death. His family will remember and always cherish his big and gentle heart, his quiet and humble manner, and the inspiration of his wonderful example. Friends will be received on Sunday, 1-4 and 6-8 p.m., at JENNIFER S. JORDAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., White Oak. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, 10:30 a.m., in St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, with Rev. Dennis Colamarino officiating. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Duquesne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank or Catholic Charities.
