Obituary Condolences

Age 84, died at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in Greensburg, on October 10, 2012. Born in Pittsburgh, Sister Patricia Marie entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1946, from Sacred Heart Parish, Shadyside. Preceded in death by her parents, Patrick J. and Ellen (Hartnett) Stack; and a sister, Mrs. Catherine (John) Needham, she is survived by her brother, John L.; nieces and nephews. She earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in special education from Wayne State University, Michigan. Sister Patricia Marie's teaching ministry began in 1950, when she was assigned to the DePaul School for Speech and Hearing. She taught hearing impaired children until 1982, when she was assigned to teach students in the dioceses of Tucson and Phoenix. From 1991 until her retirement in 2007, Sister Patricia Marie ministered as the Director of Adult Spirituality at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was the recipient of a special Pax Christi Award, nominated by the Phoenix Diocesan Council of Catholic Women as an "Outstanding Person in Religious Life" on May 1, 1996. Dedicated, prayerful and witty, Sister Patricia Marie believed, as did Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, "Without prayer, I should be of little service." Visitation 2:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012. Funeral 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Caritas Christi Motherhouse, Greensburg.
