Obituary Condolences

84, of Kiski Township, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012, in his home. Born, June 29, 1928, in Kiski Township to the late Santo and Stella (Cicero) Garufi, Frank was a lifelong resident of Apollo. Mr. Garufi was self-employed for over 60 years as a pioneer in Energy Exploration. Mr. Garufi was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army and a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Apollo. He enjoyed working in his business. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lucy DiBenardo. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Olga (DelVecchio) Garufi of Kiski Township; two daughters, Francesca Garufi of Apollo and Carolyn Garufi (fiance, Michael Byrne) of Monroeville; one son, Santo Garufi of Connecticut; a sister, Rose Gavis of Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the CURRAN - SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 100 Owens View Avenue, Apollo, PA 15613. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Roman Catholic Church in Apollo, with Father John T. Euker as celebrant. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O.
