Obituary Condolences

BRINEY ROBERT W.
Age 94, born April 3, 1918 in Brackenridge and passed away after a recent illness at the Arbors at St. Barnabas Village, Valencia, PA on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Briney and Katherine Farrell Briney; two brothers, Richard and John C. Briney; his wife, Evelyn Krutz Briney; and previous wife, Virginia Garris Briney he is survived by a daughter, Roberta Briney Kildea (Robert); and son, Thomas Briney (Rebecca), also four grand- children, Carolyn Kildea Bebb (Jeff), Megan Kildea (Metcalf) Wesley, Allyson Briney and Patrick Briney. He was a 1936 graduate of Har-Brack High School, and retired after 44 years as a Tool and Die Maker at ALCOA, in New Kensington. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was part of the occupation force in Fukuoka, Japan. A member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Brackenridge, he served as Junior Warden and assisted in numerous charitable activities along with his wife, Evelyn. He also was a Scout Master of Troop 179, Calvary Lutheran Church for several years and qualified as an Eagle Scout. He was a life-time member of Pollack Lodge 502 F & AM, the Scottish Rite of Pittsburgh and Syria Temple. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and shooting trap. He was a former member of Tarentum District Sportsmen's Club and Riverforest Golf Club. As a craftsman, he was noted for his hand-made fishing gear and intricate leather-craft items, many given as gifts to friends and relatives. He always enjoyed reading and listening to brass band music. He will be lovingly missed for his dry wit, sense of humor, devotion to family and special individualism. In lieu of flowers; the family suggests donations to, St. Barnabas Charities, 5850 Meridian Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044-9967. The family will receive friends at the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012. Funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at 10 a.m., with Dr. Frank Yesko, assistant lay pastor at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, officiating.
