Age 93, of Bradfordwoods on Wednesday, November 14, 2012; beloved husband of the late Eileen "Irish" (Sullivan) Brunner; loving father of Michael J. (Celeste) Brunner and Eileen (James) Stana of Mount Dora, FL; grandfather of Carolyn (Brian) Smith, Lauren (Jeff) Jarrard, Angela (Jeff Platt) Hall, Jared Hall, and Nathan (Jodi) Hall; great- grandfather of Graham Platt; brother of the late Mary Brenckle and Agnes Brunner. Joe was a World War II Army veteran who served in the 5th Infantry, 2nd Regiment Headquarters Company where he earned three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was a retired supervisor for Duquesne Light Company where he worked for 36 years. Joe enjoyed golfing and woodworking. Friends received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at GEORGE A. THOMA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 10418 Perry Highway, Wexford. Funeral mass Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church, Wexford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lutheran Service Society, 3171 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh PA 15237.
