RUSSELL
Age 83, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012, while under the care of the Wexford House Nursing Center. Born January 14, 1929 in Ambridge, the son of the late Joseph and the late Elizabeth (Toritto) Christiana. Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After many years of dedicated service, he retired from Braun's Bakery. During his free time, he loved golfing and playing cards. The Christiana family wishes to express their sincere and loving thanks to all the staff at the Wexford House for all of their care. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 58 years, Lucille (Bartolomucci) Christiana whom he married on October 9, 1954; his three loving sons, Russell J. Christiana and his wife, Gina, Daniel F. Christiana and his wife, Cheryl, and Paul S. Christiana; his three grandchildren, Stephanie M. Christiana, Russell J. Christiana, Jr., and Daniel P. Christiana; and his sister, Elizabeth Christopher. Russell was preceded in death by his stepfather, who raised him from the age of 2, Arthur Polito; his sister, Catherine Lashuk; and brother, James Christiana. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. Russell will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 130 Wisconsin Avenue, Cranberry Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Russell's honor to the Butler VA Healthcare System, 325 New Castle Road, Butler PA, 16001. Online condolences and directions at:
