Obituary Condolences

Age 78, of Patterson Twp. and formerly of New Brighton, died January 5, 2013 in the Ellwood City Hospital. Born September 26, 1934 in Braddock, PA, was the son of the late Eugene and Katherine Klagis Scanlon and had worked as a Manager for Bell Atlantic/Verizon. He was a member of Christ The Divine Teacher Roman Catholic Church and had served in the Army. Surviving are two daughters; and a son-in-law; and two sons; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl and Richard Herrington, New Brighton, Diane Scanlon, Baden, Richard and Eleanor Scanlon, Chippewa Twp., and Michael Scanlon, Rochester; five grandchildren, Angela Hewitt, Christina Golixer, Richard, Kellie and Eric Scanlon, four great-grandchildren, Mallory, Bailey, Rain and Cooper; three sisters; and two brothers-in-law, Janey Speece, Irwin, Evelyn Theme and Gus, West Mifflin, and Katherine Ackerman and Tony. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Milko Scanlon; two brothers; and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Shirley Scanlon, Robert and Charlotte Scanlon; and a sister; and two brothers-in-law, William (Bill) Speece and Anna Margaret and Thomas Kehoe. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 in the CAMPBELL'S CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 2618 Darlington Rd., where prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Christ The Divine Teacher Roman Catholic Church. Celebrated by Rev. Father Kim Shreck. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chippewa Twp.
