ATALLAH CHARLES W. "CHARLEY"|
Age 82, a Crescent Township resident since 1960, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. He was born in Aliquippa on August 11, 1930 to the late Abraham and Nora (Burns) Atallah. On January 3, 2010, he was preceded by his beloved wife of 60 years (married 12-2-49) Barbara (Mihalich) Atallah. Loving father of Charles W. Atallah, Jr. (Rosemary) of Huber Heights, OH, Abraham Atallah (Connie) of Moon Township, and Dorie DeSafey (David) of Cecil Township; grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of 10 with one more on the way; on the way to being a great-great- grandfather; brother of Lucille Brownlow, Ida Hetzer, Emily Boring, Alfie Atallah and the late Fred Atallah, Eddie Atallah, and Helen Spega. Charley was a member of the Glenwillard Boat Club, volunteer fireman for Crescent Volunteer Fire Department, and the Senior Citizen's organization in Crescent. Never retiring and always working two jobs, he had been employed as a steel machinist for Pittsburgh Forgings, American Bridge, and Kidd Drawn Steel in W. Aliquippa a subsidiary of H.K. Porter. In his youth, he was a Golden Glove Boxer and baseball player. He loved to hunt and was a lover of raisin pie. Charley will be fondly remembered along with his red truck as the "CEO and The Metal "Expert" of Crescent and Moon Township, AKA "The Donut Man" LOL. Visitation Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, 2-4, 7-9 at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd., where service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. Dinner to follow, location to be announced at the service. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to Crescent Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 448, Crescent, PA 15046.
