Obituary Condolences

Age 95, of Cranberry Township, passed away on January 13, 2013, while under the loving care of Grace Manor at North Park. Born in Coblentz, Germany on April 24, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Elsie (Fuchs) Frommherz. Elsie came to this country with her mother and stepfather, an American soldier, at age 5, leaving her sister Gretel behind. At the age of 54, she had the privilege of reuniting with her sister. She was the last of her generation in our family, our matriarch. Her father, Peter Frommherz, died when she was just an infant. They came to reside in the "Germantown" area in the Northside of Pittsburgh. She met her husband, Patrick Leon Beggan, at the age of 18. They were married during the great depression and celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage together. Elsie currently resided at the Grace Manor of North Park and formerly resided at the Vincentian Regency. She formerly lived at Rolling Road Regency in Cranberry Township, where she proudly maintained her independence until the age of 95. She was loved by many friends and family who appreciated her quick wit, great sense of humor and non-judgmental acceptance of all. She was a former member of Cranberry's Smiling Seniors where to her delight she was once "queen of the senior prom". She will be sorely missed by her children, Robert (Pat Schacht) Beggan of Pittsburgh, Margaret (Richard Walters) Stephenson of Cranberry Twp., William (Diana) Beggan of Butler, and Susan (Bill) Paganie of Cranberry Twp.; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and one great- great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Patrick Leon Beggan, who passed away on July 21, 2002; her son, Francis Beggan; one granddaughter; one son-in-law; three daughters-in-law; and six siblings. On our mother's behalf, we would like to thank the staff at both Grace Manor and Vincentian Regency for their loving care and kindness. Words cannot express our gratitude; you were all so special to her. Elsie's family will welcome friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 130 Wisconsin Avenue, Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066. Interment will follow at the St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery in Hampton Twp., PA.
