MICHAEL P.
Age 66, of Upper St. Clair, on Monday, January 21, 2013. Beloved father of Michael B. (Cheryl), Daniel P. (Alfy), Jeffrey T., and Stephanie J. Schaefer; cherished grandpa of Miles D. Schaefer; son of the late Michael M. and Irene Schaefer; brother of Paul S., Robert J. (Kim), and Mark (Louise) Schaefer; also survived by nieces and nephews. Michael was an attorney with General practice in Bethel Park; and avid horse and dog lover, leaving behind his beloved dog, Fanta; a former PA State Senator, 37th Senatorial District; he served in the US Army in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star; and was a graduate of Notre Dame and Georgetown Law School. Friends welcome Thursday, 6-8 p.m., Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. FREYVOGEL-SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 112 Fort Couch Rd., Bethel Park (opposite Macy's South Hills Village). Funeral Service Saturday, 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1066 Washington Rd., Mt. Lebanon. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Very shocked and sorry to here about Mikes passing...I knew him for a long time as I was The Beverage manager at The Samurai rest. for years..Ironically I presently have a garage door business and installed his door at Hillstation.So sorry to his family for their loss...I always liked Mike

who lost their father too soon.

Your father was my attorney when I bought my house 30yrs ago and my friend since.
Besides loving life he loved his family and his country.

I just heard of Mike's passing through the NOWDA; I had the pleasure of meeting him this past year during the dog trials. I am sorry to hear of his passing and I pray for peace and comfort for his family.

We are all just so devastated by the loss of Mike. I just dont have words to express what an honor it was to have called him my friend. It wont be the same at horse shows and events without him and his ever friendly face. The only thing that gives me solace is knowing that Mike always did what he loved and never let a day go to waste. We can all hope to live life to the fullest like he did. I will miss you my friend.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Mike's passing. He was a customer at our tack shop for many years, and it is hard to realize that he and Fanta will no longer burst into the store, full of life and humor. He was a truly kind man with a great love for his family, his horses, and his dogs. His memory should inspire us to enjoy life with the same joyful zest.

to mike's family and co-workers.. all of you have been in my thoughts and prayers since i heard the news. i was shocked and still am. Mike was full of ideas and always seemed to be so fast paced. My Condolences to the family of Mike Schaefer. I/we, my daughter Becca and I met Mike when we were boarding at Greenmore Commons. He would help us so many times when we first moved out there with our horse. We appreciated his help and Mike would also ask us if we needed any help when we were out there. So sorry to hear of his sudden passing. I know he will be so greatly missed. He always talked about his showing his horses and especially his new young horse he had purchased over 5 years ago. Onced again I am so sorry for your loss of Mike.

Shock and sadness just about sums it up. We were HS and on friends. Mick (as he was called then) had a VW Bug and taught me to drive a stick. Later he helped me and my father in various legal actions. When he would meet me and my wife he would ignore me and kiss my wife whispering something in her ear. Hell of a guy! He will be missed.
