CHARLES ROBERT "BOB"
Age 77, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on January 28, 2013. Bob grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in 1958. He then served his country for several years as an officer in the U. S. Army. Bob followed his Army service with a 36 year career as a chemical engineer for PPG Industries. He enjoyed traveling, reading, taking on home improvement projects, and spending time with his family -- including, in recent years, his dog Jack. Bob was a devoted caretaker to his loving wife of 51 years, Joy Brown West. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dan Crossland of Hockessin, DE; and two grandsons, David and Jeffrey Crossland, also of Hockessin, DE. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 724-941-3211. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life, followed by a luncheon, will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Peelor Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park, 15102 with Rev. Cindy Schneider officiating. Friends will be received at the chapel beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, before the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Washington Area Humane Society (washingtonpashelter. org) or to
