Obituary Condolences

On Monday afternoon, February 4, 2013, after a long struggle with diabetes and congestive heart failure, Ruth quietly passed away. Beloved wife of Joseph "Joe" J. Cosentino II; loving mother of Bruce, Joseph III (Jeannie), Katherine Garrison (Robert), Fran (Rebecca), Mark (Loren) and the late Margaret "Maggie" DiPerna (Victor); dear grandmother of 12 and great -grandmother of six; sister of James Harrington and the late Andrew Bia, Charlotte Bia, and Toni Bia. Ruth ,born on October 21,1929, was the daughter of the late Arthur Bia and Katherine Lenhart. Ruth spent her childhood in the Bairdford area, but moved to the North Side of Pittsburgh after her marriage to Joe, where they began raising their family. Eventually she and Joe made their home in Lower Burrell. She was involved in many activities of her children and grandchildren, and took a great sense of pride in their accomplishments. In the early 1980s she was instrumental in helping her husband Joe enter the home healthcare business. They founded CPR Medical in Lower Burrell, which eventually grew to four locations in the Pittsburgh area. Ruth had a love for music and in her younger years participated in several local musical productions. She always enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and drawing. Her talent was passed on to many of her children and grandchildren. Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068, 724-335-6500. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3055 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, PA 15068. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
