Age 88, of Valencia since 2007, formerly of Moon Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital. She was born in Cumberland, MD, on February 10, 1925 to the late Charles and Mary Alice (Burke) Fisher. Beloved wife for 65 years to Jack W. Blackhurst; loving mother of Wendy A. Brabson (Richard) of New Sewickley Twp, Col. Jack L. Blackhurst (Andrea) of Centerville, OH, and the late Iris Blackhurst; cherished grandmother of Leslie Saenz (Michael, Jeremy Blackhurst (Cindy), Tammy Sedley (Larry), and Ricky Brabson, Jr.; great- grandmother of Andrew, Alexander, Sydney, Haley, Danica, and Sawyer; sister of Jacqueline Pfaub (Robert) of Valencia and the late Judith Madler; sister-in-law of Richard Madler of McCandless Twp. Phyllis was a member of O.E.S. of Sewickley and Coraopolis United Methodist Church where she was active in Methodist Women-country store and salad smorgasbord. Gentle and kind, she will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave. Everyone please meet at Coraopolis United Methodist Church, 1205 Ridge Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108 for Funeral Service Saturday at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Amy Wagner and Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Sterling. Burial will be private at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church or the Salvation Army.
