Age 87, of Pittsburgh, passed from this earth peacefully on Aug. 11, 2013. Born Sept. 15, 1925, a child of the depression who was always gratified for what life provided, she could always find humor in life's everyday moments. Agnes graduated as class valedictorian from St. Paul's Cathedral High School in Oakland in 1944. She was married for 65 years to her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, John Charles (Chuck) Riley. Full participants in the post war 'Baby Boom', Agnes and Chuck would have eight children from 1948 to 1966 and their dedication to their family would dominate the activities of their life together. In 1951, Agnes and Chuck moved to the Carrick section of Pittsburgh and joined St. Norbert Parish where both would be active in the school and church for most of their lives. Agnes was especially proud that all of her children attended catholic elementary and high school and went on to graduate from college. As the matriarch of the Riley family, Agnes was known to be an energetic, tough minded, loyal woman who loved to dance and sing. Her two favorite days of the year were Christmas and the 4th of July when Agnes gathered everyone together and celebrated God, country and her beloved family.
