1929 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
84, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 13, 2013 at 11:57 p.m. at the Butler Memorial Hospital. He was born May 16, 1929 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph I. Levin and Minnie B. (Berman) Levin. Mr. Levin was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated the L & L Auto Co./ L & L Glass & Paint Co. in downtown Butler. Bernie was a member and past president of Congregation of B'nai Abraham, and a member of the Nathan H. Zeefe Lodge of B'nai Brith, the Jewish War Veterans and the William H. Miller Lodge No. 769 F. & A.M. Besides his family and many friends, he also enjoyed horse racing and blackjack. Mr. Levin is survived by his wife, Marilyn B. Levin, whom he married December 25, 1955; three sons, Scott Levin and his wife Ronna of Pittsburgh, PA, Joseph Levin of Butler, PA and Eric Levin and his wife Michelle of Butler, PA; five grandchildren, Katy & Erica Levin and triplets, Jordan, Marni & Kayla Levin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Levin, Pearl (Levin) Marlin and Sarah (Levin) Flam. Friends will be received Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the THOMPSON - MILLER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA. Services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Congregation B'nai Abraham, 519 N. Main Street, Butler, PA, with Cantor Michal Gray-Schaffer of Congregation of B'nai Abraham officiating. Burial will take place in the Congregation B'nai Abraham Cemetery in Butler.
