Age 64, of Stanton Heights, passed away on November 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her son, Eric, Jr.; fiance, Bernard Baskins; her sister, Barbara Scarboro of Baltimore, MD, Robert Moon of Pgh., PA; and numerous other relatives, friends, and former students whose lives she touched. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eric Brooks, Sr., Mr. Lew Moore, and Bessie Moore of Clairton, PA; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wheet of Lovelton, PA, Mr. Thomas Moore, Sr. of Gary, IN; and Mr. Ronald C. Moore of Pittsburgh, PA. Audrey was an elementary school teacher for 35 years with the Pittsburgh Public School District. She shared her love of teaching Language Arts in grades 4, 5, and 6 with generations of children from Baxter Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and retiring from Sunnyside Elementary School. Audrey served as a Union Representative for the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers. She believed in the "Union" as a teacher's best friend. She also enjoyed traveling. She took many trips to the beaches of Florida and finally made Coco Beach her home. Audrey will be forever missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at SPRIGGS & WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 720 N. Lang Ave., 412-243-8080. Service Friday 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church.
