Obituary Condolences Flowers

Age 81, of Green Tree, on Saturday, December 21, 2013. He was born to Umberto and Assunta Castaldo, May 5, 1932, on the Isle of Capri, Italy. Carlo was the beloved husband of Helen Salcetti Castaldo, the love of his life, for 57 years. They met in Capri while Helen was on hiatus from a year-long job in Rome. They were married after a year and a half long courtship in Rome, Italy in 1958 and then relocated to Pittsburgh in 1959 to raise a family. He is also survived by his loving children, Carla (Charles) Robida and David (Sharon) Castaldo; beloved Papa of Michaela and Zachary Robida; brother of Eugenio Castaldo and the late Marcello, Gaetano, and Attilio Castaldo; brother-in-law of Lynne Salcetti and the late Robert Salcetti, Sr. and Gene (Anne) Salcetti; also survived by niece and nephews, Beth Salcetti Moher, Blake Salcetti, and Bob Salcetti, Jr. Carlo's outgoing, friendly disposition and passion for good food led him to a successful career in the restaurant business. Carlo and Helen had a love for traveling and although they traveled to many places throughout Europe and the U.S., their heritage and love of family led them to return to Isle of Capri yearly upon their retirement. The family will receive friends Friday 3-6 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. The Blessing and Committal Service will follow at 6 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anne Home, 685 Angela Dr., Greensburg, PA 15601.
