Of Shadyside, on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Willard Grenlee Fischer; mother of Olivia Jane Fischer, Theodore Alfred Fischer and John Jeffrey Fischer (Mary Susanna Binder Fischer). One of seven children, Cora was born December 19, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI to the late George Libby and Daisy Hicks Libby. Cora graduated with a BA from the University of Wisconsin and received her M. Ed. from the University of Iowa. A woman of many accomplishments, in her youth Cora earned a private pilot's license and won the 1949 Intercollegiate Billiards Championship. Later in life, as an Educator she founded the Oakland School, a non-profit, co-educational high school located in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. She has been a lifelong, active parishioner of Calvary Episcopal Church. A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206 on Monday at 2 p.m. If desired, the family suggests memorial donations to Calvary Episcopal Church.
