1925 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Age 88, a life-long resident of Groveton, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice House. He was born in Pittsburgh on December 28, 1925, to the late Fredrick and Lenora (Heldman) Bolster. On March 27, 1999, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Katherine (Farrell) Bolster. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by several siblings. Loving father of Kathryn Diday (S. Rodger) of Imperial, Carol Marchetti (David) of Groveton, David Wright of Imperial and the late Thomas Bolster; father-in-law of Jacqueline Bolster of Neville Island; brother of Wilma Daugherty of Griffith, IN and Myrna Klowski of Clarion; grandfather of Glenn Ellis (Milagro), Carole Fernandez (James), Stacie Cope (Jason), Brad Bolster, Veronica Bolster and the late Dennis Ellis and Paul Marchetti; also seven great- grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren. Bud proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a life member of VFW Post 402, American Legion Post 945 and St. Joseph Church. He was a retired machinist from Lewis Foundry and Pittsburgh Gear. His hobbies included leather working, stained glass and his love of horses. Visitation Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. with VFW Service at 7 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave., where prayers will be recited on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with full military hours. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to Heroes Helping Heroes.
