MARY ROGINSKI Obituary

ROGINSKI MARY
Age 89, of Ambridge, died on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at The Villa St. Joseph in Baden. Mary was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Petan) Yanchar. She was born and raised in Ambridge with her brother, Joe. In 1948, Mary married her husband and lifelong partner, Al, and together they raised six children, Richard, Rosemarie, Linda, Edward, Nancy, and Kathy. She was a faithful member of Good Samaritan Parish. Mary, along with her husband, Al, was very active In the SNPJ as the Secretary of the Revelier SNPJ Lodge 33 for over 35 years. She wrote hundreds of articles for the SNPJ newspaper Prosveta. Mary was a proud, founding member of the SNPJ Heritage Center In Enon Valley, PA. She was a wonderful baker and delicious smells would always be coming from her kitchen. She was also known for the beautiful roses that graced the front of the family home. Mary dearly loved her family and one of her greatest joys was spending time with them, traveling throughout the United States, Canada, and Slovenia to visit. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Aloysius; her brother, Joseph; and daughter, Linda Russell. Surviving are her sons, Richard (Nancy), West Point, Utah and Edward (Deborah) of Butler, Pennsylvania; daughters, Nancy (Mark) Stassen, Indianapolis, Indiana, Kathy (Leon) Labelle, Winnipeg, Canada; nine grandchildren, Amy and Jonathan Russell, Erin (John) Spence, Alexander Roginski, Vanessa and Gregory Stassen, Luke and Eve Roginski, and Paul Casar; one great-grandchild, Alissa Spence; in-laws, Adam and Pat Roginski, Economy, and Irene Stueber, Harmony Township; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at The SYKA FUNERAL HOME, Ambridge, where a service will be held Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Good Samaritan Parish. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Slovene Radio Hour or the SNPJ Heritage Center. A special thanks to the staff at the Villa and Good Samaritan Hospice for their loving care.

My very deepest sympathy to the family. I have so many fond memories of your mom from when our families first met in the 1960's. We all shared our love of the SNPJ Rec Center.I'm a snowbird in Florida, thus unable to be there, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you.Love to all.
