Suddenly at her home on Saturday, December 12, 2015, Alberta M., age 65, of South Fayette. Beloved daughter of Alice and the late Albert Petrie; and mother of Bridgette (Tim) McDonald and John (Jamie Zeman) McLaughlin; dear grandmother of Bria McLaughlin, Katlin McDonald and John McLaughlin IV; sister of Thomas Nightingale, Charles Petrie and the late Nancy Dixon and Susan Petrie- Merscher; dear sister-in-law of Dave Dixon. Friends received at the HERSHBERGER - STOVER INC. FUNERAL HOME,170 Noble Avenue, Crafton, on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 50 W. Crafton Ave., Crafton on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

I only knew Alberta a little while. I met her a couple months ago at work. I didn't get to know a lot about her, but what I did get to experience was her kindness, sense of humor, and compassion. She always had a smile for me and encouraging words. I can't even begin to imagine how many lives she has touched and made better. I will miss her.

I had the great pleasure of working with Alberta for 7 years while at Boise Office Solutions/Office Max.
Alberta was truly one of a kind in her abilities to constantly want more for herself and the betterment of the company.
She had a work ethic and drive unlike any other person I had the pleasure of working with over our many years together.
Alberta was a true inspiration to me and she has had a long lasting affect on me and so many others that she touched.
I will miss you dearly Bert!
Your smile, your drive, your warmth and your passion to succeed.
Thank you making so many including me a success!
I will never forget you and the world has lost a great person only for heaven to gain from our loss.

Alberta and I grew up together in Crafton. She was a very special and caring person. I hadn't seen her in years but I always remember her and the good times we had. So sorry to hear of her passing.

Alberta and I played together years ago while growing up in Crafton. I lived on Haldane St. a block over from her childhood home. I hadn't seen her in years and was so glad to see her when she came to my father's viewing in 1999. A kindness very typical of her....rest in peace. My sincere condolences to her family.

sincere sympathy to ALberta's family at this time. We were friends and co workers at UPMC we would have out morning "talk" sessions and I enjoyed her wisdome and wit.

I worked with Alberta for a short time, but she helped me feel at home and welcome at UPMC. One of the most geniunely kind people I've met. We talked about sewing/crafting and she let me know about a quilt she was working on out of dresses. I really hope someone finishes this project. She would have wanted that. My thoughts are with the family.

Alberta and I, worked together at the Greentree Shop N' Save. We were both divorced and having some rough times raising our children. Remembering the cold winter nights walking home together after work. My deepest sympathy to Alberta's family and friends. May God soothe your spirit, comfort your soul, and bring you peace during this difficult time.

My heart was very heavy to learn about Ms Alberta's passing. I have been working with her for a few years and she was one that i enjoyed speaking with in the mornings before our shift began. She was a sweet and caring lady and i will forever remember the words of wisdom she would share with me as I was going through the transition of motherhood. We all at work will miss her on the phones with her untouchable personality and her baked goods that she would kindly feed her work family from time to time. Ms Alberta you have went went on home to be in glory we don't understand why so soon but God knows best for his child Rest with Jesus until we meet again. Family we are praying for your peace and strength during this sad time.
