RONALD S.
Age 81, of Oakmont, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 11, 2016. Husband for 48 years of Elaine (Wallace) Morris; loving father of Douglas Morris, Mary (Jeffrey) Bronner, Kate Morris, Henry (Kristen) Morris and Jane Morris, MD (Meg MacDougal); grandfather of Elizabeth and Anna Morris, Stella and Lola Wallace, Kayli Morris, Saida Bronner, Cyrus and Avery Morris; brother of Judson (Kathy) Morris. After graduating The Kent School in 1953, and Graduating Yale University in 1957, Ronald proudly served our country with the United States Navy as a lieutenant JG from 1958-1961. His entire 30 year career was with US Steel. He was a member of the Oakmont Country Club since 1982. He loved sports and the people he played with. If the game had a ball, he played it with incredible energy and skill. He was particularly accomplished at tennis and played competitive golf and paddle tennis until 2016. He was passionate about oceanography and was a Master Scuba Diver exploring the seven seas. His shell collection is in Carnegie Museum of Natural History. He and Elaine were world travelers. He lived life with enthusiasm and courage loving his family, walking his dogs through beautiful forests, planting trees and creating habitats for the birds. He was a naturalist at heart. Memorial donations may be made in his name to an Audubon Society or the National Wildlife Federation. The family invites friends to a celebration of his life on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at the Oakmont Country Club, 1233 Hulton Rd., Oakmont, PA 15139. Deepest condolences to the Morris family. Ron was a wonderful friend, and generous mentor as paddle tennis teammate at OCC. To me Ron was an older brother, to be admired and emulated. Requescat in pacem.

Ron was a Renaissance man. A great athlete and always in great shape. His passing is such a shock. Not only was he fast of foot and quick with a racket, but he had great financial instincts as well. When all the world told him not to invest in a new offering, I listened to him which led to his advice paying for my kids expensive college educations. I never had a better friend. 'Loved the guy. Am shedding many tears right now as I offer this sad goodbye.

My sincere condolences to Elaine, Doug and the entire Morris family. I have so many great memories of Ron on and off the tennis, paddle and racquetball courts. He was a great friend and mentor. He will be truly missed.
