BONAROS TULIA NICHOLAS
Of Kennedy/Robinson Township, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away on July 14, 2016, at the age of 97. Tulia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Bonaros of Victory Coffee Company and her beloved son, Nicholas Charles Bonaros. She is survived by her loving daughter, Nasia Hareras; son-in-law, John Hareras; daughter-in-law, Helen Bonaros; along with her two grandchildren, Athena Hareras Tuohey and Evan J. Hareras. Tulia, a graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School, was born in Wilmington, Delaware and came to Pittsburgh in 1920 when her father Nicholas Nicholas opened the Nicholas Brothers Coffee Company that continues to operate today, in Market Square. Tulia is best remembered in the Greek community for her love of the Greek culture as displayed by her cooking, mastery of the language and graceful Greek dancing. She along with her husband, Charles and many others worked to raise funds needed to bring a Greek Orthodox Church to the South Hills Community in the early 50s. After being a stay at home mother, Tulia entered into the work field as a sales representative and makeup artist for Estee Lauder and later worked in the Baldwin Whitehall schools district with students having English as a second language. Liberty Ave., Dormont, 412-531-4000 on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with Trisagion service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church Monday 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment Mt.
