HOWARD DAVID ROWAND, Sr.
Age 63, of Bethel Park, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh on July 1, 1953, a son of the late Harry Rowand and Lois Marie Reese Howard. A member of St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park and a former member of the church's choir. David was an Environmental Engineer and worked as a project manager for numerous consulting firms as well as industry. During his career, he was an active member with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He will always be remembered for his beautiful singing voice and always being ready to help family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Mara Irene Hlavacik of Bethel Park; two sons, David (Shawna) Rowand Howard, Jr. and Andrew Paul Howard, all of Londonderry, NH; a brother, John (Diane) Howard of Sommerville, NJ; a sister, Virginia (Scott) Dagnall of Bethlehem, PA; two stepsisters, Heather (Bill) Elfrink of Wadsworth, OH and Robyn (Michael) Deterling of Akron, OH; a stepmother, Marcia Howard of Medina, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 235 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 5, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi with Rev. Gerald Mikonis as celebrant.
