Age 95, of Oakmont, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 26, 2017. Daughter of the late Merle A. and Ruth M. (Kitzki) Thompson. Beloved wife of the late Robert R. Springer, Sr.; loving mother of Robert R. (Sharon) Springer, Jr., Richard M. (Patty) Springer, John F. (Camille) Springer, Deborah J. Springer, and the late Michael W. Springer; grandmother of Robert (Patti) Springer, Mark Springer, Ellen (Edward) Shubert, Wendi Springer (Antonio Tirado Lopez), Shawn (Angela) Springer, Jackie Lee Martin and the late Pamela Weihrauch; great-grandmother of 13; and great-great-grandmother of three; sister of the late Etta Knell and Melvin M. "Butch" Thompson. She is also survived by her four legged friend, Cindy. Jean was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakmont, worked for many years with the Oakmont Boro as a school crossing guard and also as a customer service representative with the former Waltzers Dry Cleaners. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and crafts. Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont where a funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens next to her husband.
