BARBARA L. (TROFKA)
Age 78, of Cheswick, passed away on Thursday July 27, 2017 in West Penn Hospital. She was born on January 16, 1939 to the late Steve and Catherine Sert Trofka. Barbara lived her life fully and fearlessly. She treasured family and opened hers to welcome everyone drawn to her warmth, generosity and laughter. After an early graduation from Ken High, Barbara followed her dreams to California and a career as a proud stewardess and sales agent for Western Airlines, whose business card she still carries. After a successful career she returned to Pennsylvania to raise her family. She is survived by her son, Steven C. DiPalma of Cheswick; daughter Tamara L. DiPalma of Pittsburgh; son James S. (Michelle) DiPalma of Springdale; the "lights of her life" grandchildren, James Michael and Shelby Rose DiPalma; and her nephew, Shane Trofka of Maui. Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by the love of her life, John R. Toth. She will be remembered for her love of black labs, all wildlife, The Pittsburgh Steelers, her camp in Tyler and all holiday gatherings, great and small. Her family welcomes friends on Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 12-3 and 5-8 p.m. in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pgh. St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 31, 2017, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church in Harwick with The Rev. Regis Farmer officiating. Entombment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
