On Friday, October 13, 2017, of Monroeville. Loving husband of 33 years to Sandra (Boros) Matelan; dear father of Jill Marie Schubert and her husband, Al, and David Matelan, Jr. and his wife, Iulia; Pap of Alaina and Tyler; best buddy of Archie; son of the late William and Eleanor; brother of Bill and Paul, Debbie, Rich, and Judi, and Martin and Marlene. David is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Friends received 1-3 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, ONLY at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

So sorry about Dave. It's been a while since we have been together, but we did have some fun times at RVC parties and picnics. Dave always had big smile and hugs for everyone. He was a good man and I pray he is at peace.

I am so very sorry to hear this. we just had our Class Reunion and David was in several feature shots of a video we played. We were not aware of this terrible tragedy that had befallen him and family. My thoughts and prayers for Dave and family.
