Diane Catherine Oden, 52, of Jerome, Idaho, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
She was born Nov. 21, 1961, in Idaho Falls, the daughter of Edward Clark "Ted" Oden and Margaret Bernice "Peg" Anderson Oden. Diane was raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1980. She excelled in sports and was active in softball, basketball and track.
Diane loved motorcycles. She liked dirt bike riding and street riding as well, and she also loved to fish.
Diane met Merl Leavitt, and they settled in Jerome in 2000.
She spent most of her working life in landscaping and bookkeeping. Diane will be remembered as a wonderful companion, daughter, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Diane is survived by her companion, Merl Leavitt of Jerome; her mother, Margaret "Peg" Oden of Idaho Falls; two brothers, Eric Oden and Mark (Heidi) Oden, all of Boise; her son, Daniel Fourman of Seattle; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward "Ted" Oden.
Diane's family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to the staff at St. Luke's for their kind care.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Snake River Elks Lodge, 412 E. 200 South in Jerome. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 2355 Rollandet Ave. in Idaho Falls. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.

I played basketball and softball with Diane. She was a terrific athlete and a nice person. My prayers and thoughts are with her loved ones
