Darlene Duce Clayson passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the age of 84.
Darlene was born Aug. 5, 1928, to Daniel Leon Duce and Alta LaRue Kendall Duce in Kimball, Idaho. She attended grade school in Kimball and graduated from Firth High School in 1946.
She married her high school sweetheart, Elwin W. Clayson, on July 19, 1946, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They made their life together farming and raising children in the Shelley/Firth area.
After all their children were gone from home, they served three missions for the LDS church, in Nigeria, Oakland Calif., and Ohio. They also worked for many years as temple workers in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS church, serving in many capacities in each organization.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, her wonderful sense of humor and her love of family and the gospel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elwin, a daughter, a grandson and seven great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two brothers, Lonnie (Jenny) Duce of Kellogg, Idaho, and Gerald (Shirley) Duce of Hamilton, Mont.; and her children, David (Eris), Nolan (Claudia), Dennis (Carol), Gaylen (Donna), and Connie (Wes) Gentillon, all of Firth, Melanie (Roland) Park of Evanston, Wyo., Janeen (Scott) Sargent and Kaylene (Kurt) Hathaway of Shelley; 42 grandchildren; and 115 great-grandchildren with five on the way.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the Firth Ward Chapel, 744 N. 600 East. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W. Oak St. in Shelley, and a viewing from 10 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.

We are sorry to hear 0f the loss of your mother. We mention you often and wonder where you are at and how you are doing, it's been many years since the old banking days. We moved to Nevada 9 years ago.
